Lee and Galaxy of Stars to Rock Grenfell NSW

27-03-07

Grenfell will play host to a "Spirit of the Bush" concert to rally farming families battling to cope with their sixth year of drought.
The concert will be headlined by country music singer Lee Kernaghan, who asked for Premier Morris Iemma's help in staging the event.
The New South Wales Government will contribute $150,000.
Weddin Shire Mayor Maurice Simpson says it is a major win for Grenfell and he is expecting up to 5,000 people to attend from across the state.
Councillor Simpson says it is a great way to show support for those doing it tough.

"We've got something like 15 acres we'll be able to utilise for car parking, we're expecting 5,000 people at least and it'll be one of the biggest things to come to the bush for a long, long time," he said.

The free concert will be held on June 30 at Lawson Park.
