Lee receives 6 Golden Guitar Nominations

19-12-07

The Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) announced the Finalists for the 36th CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia, presented by Jayco, at Doltone House in Sydney this morning with Australian country superstars Lee Kernaghan, Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, Troy Cassar-Daley, Sara Storer, James Blundell, Adam Harvey and Gina Jeffreys all sharing the glory!

The legendary Lee Kernaghan, recently named Queensland’s Australian of the Year, once again managed to lead the field in the Finalists’ race, nabbing a total of six. Kernaghan is already the proud owner of a record 24 Awards picked up across his amazing 15-year music career. This time he shares four of his Finalist spots with mates Adam Brand and Steve Forde for the trio’s charitable collaboration on the hit single, Spirit Of The Bush. All profits from the release went to the drought relief organisation, Aussie Helpers. Spirit Of The Bush is a Finalist in the Single of the Year, Video Clip of the Year, Heritage Song of the Year and Vocal Collaboration of the Year categories. Kernaghan is also a Finalist in the Male Artist of the Year category, as well as sharing an APRA Song of the Year nod for Spirit Of The Bush with the song’s co-writers, Garth Porter and Colin Buchanan.
