LK AND AUSSIE HELPERS EMBRACE THE SPIRIT OF THE BUSH

21-01-08

Aussie Helpers Patron, Lee Kernaghan,  holds the struggles of rural Australia very close to his heart. Lee has joined Aussie Helpers to raise awareness of the challenges farming families in rural Australia are facing.

Lee's Drought Relief Concerts have bought hope to many. Of the concert staged at Grenfell, Lee says "The communities of the Central West of NSW have all been so affected by this drought, the worst in a 100 years. Our aim is to draw attention to the hardship many families are facing on a day to day basis and to give people from all over the region an opportunity join with us at the concerts to pay tribute to the fighting spirit of these great farming families.

The Grenfell concert follows the first Spirit of the Bush Concert that Lee brought to the Wimmera Region of Victoria last March. That event was staged in Horsham and a staggering 20,000 people turned out to enjoy a day of music as a community and to put aside the pressures created by drought for what was a very special day celebrating the Spirit of the Bush.

Over the month of May, Lee along with his mates Adam Brand, Steve Forde, and a veritable 'who's who' of new country, have been hard at work in the studio recording a brand new song called "The Spirit of the Bush".

100 per cent of all profits from this song and video are to be donated to the AUSSIE HELPERS charity that is assisting drought affected farming families across Australia.
