Lee to run in Olympic Torch Relay

Reigning Australian of the Year Lee Kernaghan will run in tomorrow's Beijing Olympics Torch Relay in Canberra.
Lee will be among the up to 80 selected runners including many Olympic athletes past and present such as Libby Tricket, Ian Thorpe and Ron Clark and Paralympians Amanda Fraser and Louise Savage.
Canberra is the only Australian city (and one of just 21 cities worldwide) to take part in the relay along a 20 kilometre route taking in Canberra's major icons and landmarks.
"To me, running with the torch is all about supporting our Australian team and acknowledging the incredible efforts they have made over many years to represent our country at the highest level," Lee said.
"Despite the rights and wrongs of this world, my hope is that the Olympic spirit will continue to unite people and countries now and in the years to come."
